Our institutional and private partners all get the most out of all the treasures the destination of Chartres has to offer

Chartres: more than a city - an urban area and a community

Since 2017, "C'Chartres Tourisme" has become a tourist office for the wider area. In recent years, an intercommunal strategy has been undertaken in the Chartres region. The motto is "stronger together."

While the city of Chartres itself is the historical centre of the partnership with our Tourist Office, today we work hand in hand with the 46 municipalities of the greater Chartres urban area. On January 1st, 2018 these will grow to 66 centrally-controlled communities, a collaboration structured around the Community of communes of Chartres Métropole.

An approach that is accompanied by a genuine desire to promote our territory through the territorial brand "C'Chartres" and its ambassadors. This is a community gathered around a strong identity based on creativity, dynamism, skills and centralised decision-taking.

The Tourist Office is an active partner in various tourist networks

At the departmental and regional levels, the Tourist Office of Chartres Métropole works with Eure-et-Loir Tourisme and with the Committee of Tourism Centres of the Val de Loire promoting common activities across the territory.

At the national level, C'Chartres Tourisme is invested in the French Tourist Offices network. Tis involvement in the National Federation of Tourist Offices and Syndicates is intended to contribute to the various missions of the network, in order to provide an ever more high quality service to French tourists and foreign visitors.

We are also committed to Atout France which promotes France abroad. More specifically we belong to the cluster "Tourism and Spirituality." Through networking actions, we benefit from expertise in the monitoring and analysis of the international tourist market, participating in the outreach of the destination with foreign tourist markets.

The Tourism Office is also part of the network of Sanctuary towns in France. This association brings together tourist offices in places of pilgrimage and worship, sharing experiences and skills around the reception of tourists with religious reasons for travel.

Finally, we work in collaboration with the Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs of the Loire valley within the framework of actions carried out by the Ministry of Culture and Communication on projects related to heritage and the artistic and cultural industries.

The Tourist Office, a partner of business networks

C'Chartres Tourisme also cooperates with networks of local and national companies from various sectors to optimize the tourism offer of Chartres and its wider urban area. We are involved in partnership actions that contribute to the influence of our tourist destination.
